Testimonial date May 2010 from Magrith (Netherlands). Despite snow in mai we had a great time in St Beat. Ron and Carole are great hosts, willing to help at any time. We enjoyed our stay very much.

Testimonial date May 2010 from D&A Excel and Lotus V8! This was our second visit to Chalet Le Chapeau Bleu and it was just as enjoyable, if not better, than our first. Ron and Carol are the perfect hosts and have been busy during the last 12 months improving the accommodation for their guests. There is always a warm and friendly atmosphere and nothing is too much trouble. Guests are treated more like old friends or family members than paying visitors. The evening meal prepared by Ron was excellent. The chalet is surrounded by beautiful scenery and being nestled between the mountains is very peaceful and relaxing. If you want to be more energetic this is the ideal spot to use as a base for walking or skiing depending on the season. The only thing that Ron and Carol cannot control is the weather. The week before our stay it was hot, sunny and 25 degrees. We arrived the first week of May to find it overcast, 4 degrees with 10cms of snow on the ground and more fell during the evening. It didn't matter though as the welcome we received and the accommodation was very warm and satisfying. We will definitely be back !!

Testimonial date May 2010 from Chris. A trip to Carole and Ron's place whether for a week or a few days is like relaxation therapy. Full of small unexpected touches from coffee and snacks on arrival to exquisite 4 course meals in the evening (at an unbelieveably cheap price of 20 euros) so prepare to be fully looked after! The rooms are beautiful and clean with really comfy beds. While we were there, we met Belgian guests who were fantastic company when either sitting out on the sun terrace having a coffee or beer in the afternoon or at the table for dinner. It seems to me that this place attracts people who share the same qualities, regardless of nationality, social, interesting and very friendly, that's what a holiday stay at Chalet le Chapeau Bleu offers. The couple we met had been the previous year and say they come back every summer due to the unique experience. I loved the fact that St Beat is a quiet and tranquil town with an authentic French feel, unspoilt by the tourist trade. It's beautiful in the summer and out of the town dotted around the local area are loads of summer activities from flights to paragliding and rafting, plenty to get stuck into. There are also many lakes if you just want to take a stroll and take in the amazing scenery. Plenty of restaurants a short car trip away, also genuine tapas just over the border into Spain, approx 8km. Coming back in Winter to snowboard at the local slopes! Thanks for an awesome stay!

Testimonial date March 2010 from N & Z Pearson. An idillic location on the outskirts of St Beat within minutes of fabulous skiing in France and Spain. The accomodation is very comfortable, the food excellent and the welcome superb. I have stayed and now re-booked for both summer and winter holidays for white water rafting, hill walking, skiing and just a quiet get-away. The photos don't do it justice!

Testimonial date Feb 2010 from J Wright. Staying at Chalet le Chapeau Blue is a fantastic experience in the most amazing setting. If you want to be looked after and enjoy the scenery it is a great place to be.

Tesimonial date Jan 2010 from J Rhodes. We had a great time at new year Our bedroom & en-suite bathroom very pleasant. The Beds were snug and comfortouble. There was plenty of choice for breakfast and the Kitchen Staff were very Pleasant! All in all a very warm & welcoming place to stay, with easy acces to Spain and also Many places in France with quick access to the Motorways WE WOULD RECOMEND CHALET LE CHAPEAU BLEU AS WE HAVE NOW VISITED OVER SIX TIMES, IN SUMMER & IN WINTER. EVERY TIME WE HAVE BEEN MADE WELCOME. HOPE TO SEE RON & CAROLE SOON.

Testimonial date Jan 2010 from Rick. Absolutely tremendous. Would highly recommend to anybody looking to stay in or around St Beat.

Testimonial date September 2009 from Martin. This is the second time i have visited ron & carole. I visited in may with my biker friends and was so impressed with the place i just had to return with my wife for our aniversary. she was amazed how pretty the venue and surroundings are, she sends regards to the perfect hosts with many thanks for the aniversary card and truffles awaiting us when we arrived. If your thinking of visiting this area, please make sure you stay with Ron & Carole, you will not be disapointed. thanks again Martin. P.S see you again in may 2010

Testimonial date September 2009 from Jess Hebden. Chalet le Chapeau Bleu feels like a home from home, cannot recommend it enough. I stayed with my partner for 3 night break. As soon as we arrived we were greeted with a massive smile and offered a drink - perfect after a long journey! The house itself is spacious and has a lovely calm atmosphere. Our room was very prettily decorated, spotlessly clean, and with expansive views of the mountains. We had en-suite and TV/DVD in our room, with a HUGE choice of English & French DVDs to choose from provided by Ron & Carole our hosts. On all three nights we decided to go for the €20 evening meal with wine included which was superb value. The standard was way beyond our expectations with gorgeous soups and salad starters, casseroles including an amazing cassoulet (local speciality), home-cooked desserts and local cheeses. Also Ron & Carole were really helpful suggesting things to do in the area which was a plus, we went off season so enjoyed trips to thermal health spa/saunas, but during ski season all the main resorts are a really short car journey away. Chalet le Chapeau Bleu was an excellent find, WE'LL BE BACK!

Testimonial date August 2009 from Tina, Ireland. Everything about it is exceptional!! The location is amazingly beautiful, with it's castle sat high along the mountain. The river gently passing through, giving a relaxed serenity. The rainbow of colour from the autumn trees, and the people with their genuine smiles and friendly natures. Ron & Carol both are wonderful people and amazing host, not to mention they're both fantastic cooks!!! Our room was sooooo comfortable, with everything you could want or need to enjoy yourself and relax. You'll NEVER find anywhere else that you'd enjoy more. Thanks Ron & Carol!!!!

Testimonial date June 09 from Ian Malyon. By chance my son and I were on a Motorcycling holiday and found ourselves in St Beat, I knew of Ron and Caroles B&B but didn't have directions. I found a local eatery and asked inside and was given a flyer with contact details on. I rang Ron and even though it was short notice they gave us a room for the night. On arrival we were greeted with cold beers and a very warm welcome, always a good start :-) The room was lovely and clean and the bathroom was great, a wet room shower that was a welcome sight after 6 hrs riding in the sweltering heat. Both my son and I felt so at home we were very tempted to stay another night before heading into Spain, but alas we couldn't. I wouldn't hesitate in recommending these great hosts to anyone, in fact I've already told some fellow bikers who having seen the pics etc said they'd stay there next time they're passing. All in all a great time was had and hope to see both Ron and Carole again sometime in the near future.

Testimonial date 15/03/2009 from Miss Niamh K. Carole and Ron were two fantastic hosts. They could not of been more accommodating. They made us feel part of their home. The food was amazing. The views from the house are breathtaking. It is an ideal location for skiers and non skiers alike. We would definitely go back again. Fantastic week.

Testimonial date 28/08/2008 from Mr. Eamonn S. Could find nothing to fault this place. All very comfortable, easy to find, beautifully situated, unusually good food and superb hospitality from hosts Ron and Carole. Strongly recommended.

Testimonial date 08/11/2008 from T Kirwan. Wow. That´s the word that comes to mind. It was so incredible I don´t know where to begin. The area is beautiful and you can feel its history, well worth the visit, but it was Ron & Carole that made it an amazingly special honeymoon for us. The room/home was so comfortable, with everything you could want.. Make sure you dine there, these folks can cook!!! We will definatly be going back.

Testimonial date November 2008 from Edmond and Tina. Everything about it is exceptional!! The location is amazingly beautiful, with it's castle sat high along the mountain. Testimonial date May 2009 from Andy. After decending the mountains in the pouring rain to have a warm welcome and a cold beer was brilliant. We where made most welcome and it felt like a home from home (only with better views). I would make the trip again just for another bowl of pepper/lime soup.

Testimonial date May 2009 from David Bartlett. Fantastic accomodation, great hosts - check out the red pepper soup. Would highly recommend this accomodation.

Testimonial date May 2009 from David Gadd. Great stay, great value for money and very hospitable. The owners are particularly friendly and helpful and Ron is himself a biker so undertands what to do when you arrive soaking wet after a sudden downpoar!

Testimonial date May 2009 from Steven Senior. What an amazing welcome at Chalet le Chapeau Bleu. Great hosts, incredibly friendly and providing some amazing food. There were 8 of us on this trip and we stayed in 10 different accomodations, all of us agreed that Chalet Le Chapeau Bleu was the highlight of the tour. I will be returning.

Testimonial date June 2009 from Richard Rock. Stayed here for four nights in May 2009, toured the area on our motorbikes - Fantastic Roads. This accommodation is one of the best places we have ever stayed: the hosts, the food, the standard of rooms and the location, all just brilliant. Think very carefully about booking elsewhere. Rated 10/10.

Testimonial date June 2009 from Mat Page. We all had a great time, your hospitality was fantastic and we all plan to come again The rest of our group want to come next time. I will be recomending you to all the bike forums I go on and I will be writing in to MCN magazine to tell of our trip and encourage all bikers to stop with you.

Testimonial date 05/06/09 from Martin Bishop. I and two other friends, venture to Europe on our motorcycles looking for a special break with roads and relaxation to fill our dreams. Ron and Carole have filled this venture without doubt, they greet us with our first beer on arrival at the gate, and the hospitality just keeps coming. They can't do enough for the guests, advising and directing guests to make the most of their stay. The accommodation is outstanding and spotless, The food is top class. I wish to say a very big thank you on behalf of us all. I am taking my wife back in August for our anniversary, and booking again for next year for the boys next venture. Highest recommendation all round, you will not find better. Regards Martin.

Testimonial date September 2009 from guest in Bruxelles.
